Beautiful Beach!!! At bottom of cliff....
Warning!!! Water is very cold!!! Freezing! But the waves here are awesome!
If you are from New England, you can hack it. If not, you better stick to the ponds!

Most popular restaurant in town. Overlooking Mayo Beach and Wellfleet Harbor. Breakfast lunch & dinner served. Excellent raw bar with shellfish from their own grant. Best burgers on Cape Cod! Excellent wine list. Friendly bar area. Also the Bombshelter Bar downstairs for the hard core types.
Favorite Dish: Hamburger platter with sauteed onions on top and fried calamari on the side. All the food is good, especially the seafood.

The food and service are both unbelievable!!! This place has it all, and then some. From when you sit down...crackers & cheese, bread & whipped butter, decanter of water....to the salad which was sooo delicious! And then the main course.....filet mignon and scallops! Nice portions, could not finish meal.
The ambiance is wonderful also! Very quaint, old New England with fireplace. Comfortable.
Five Stars!

The most beautiful handmade quillts. All made by the Amish in Pennsylvania. Fun to browse, but do not touch! Most of the quilts are in the $1,500 range. (I actually bought one this summer!). But there are affordable placemats and wall hangings.
What to pay: $1,500

Do not climb on the cliffs or dunes. There is enough erosion already, do not add to it. You also may be harming the wild life. Respect our beaches. And READ THE SIGNS!
These beaches are part of the National Seashore and considered a national park.

This town is very artsy, just as you are passing through stop to admire; local art and antique shops.
We stopped in a great little shop and picked up some unique tee shirts for the family - look for the gecko logo.

Its all about beaches. Hike them, Bike them, and Paddle them along 50 miles of trails and empty beaches in the Cape Cod National Seashore. The best on the East Coast.
Equipment: good hiking shoes with wide soles for the beaches; Any decent trail bike will do the job both on and off the bike trails; and for kayaking you can go the novice route in the ponds and estuaries or you can go into the surf and yak the Atlantic Ocean (on a flat day).
Of course you can go for surfboarding, parasurfing and parasailing if you are up to it.

Favorite thing: If you like oysters, come to the annual Oyster Festival in October and enjoy the best oysters in the world! Live music, food stalls, shellfish and an oyster shucking contest. Small town and fun.
Fondest memory: The wide open sandy beaches on the bay side and ocean side. Some 30 miles of beaches mostly in the Cape Cod National Seashore. Hiking, biking, boating & fishing. Best time to visit is in Setp & Oct when it is still warm and the crowds are gone.
