Favorite thing: Winthrop is only 1.6 square miles. Sidewalks on both sides of the street and lovely old neighborhoods. Just right for getting out to take a walk!
Fondest memory: Sidewalks everywhere. I'm from New Hampshire where sometimes there are no sidewalks at all and you have to always be aware of the traffic. But Winthrop is one of the safest places to walk that I've ever been in.

Favorite thing: We're on the Harbor side of Winthrop and when it get's as cold as it has this winter 2003, the salt water will freeze up on Boston Harbor.
Fondest memory: The Ice Breaker Boat has to go out and break up the ice thru the Channel so ships can come & go to Boston. I didn't get a picture of that being done, but here I am standing in my driveway and this is what it looks like with the ice breaking up.
By late afternoon, it was gone!

Favorite thing: Sail around the harbor or do what I do ... sit on the deck of the Elk's or one of the 3 Yacht Clubs, feet up, drink in hand (mine's a Margarita), and watch the activity on and over the waters.
Fondest memory: Just enjoying the view!

Favorite thing: The sense of being a part of a close community.
Fondest memory: Joining in the activities at one of Belle Isle Reservation's local celebration and picnic. Really nice neighborhood, hometown feeling. All ages join in the festivities!
