Feeding the Swans of Lewis Lake
A neighbor feeds the swans, duck & seagulls of Lewis Lake some bread. Just on the other side of the road is Boston Harbor.
Frankly I don't think they should be fed table scraps like this. They should be fending for themselves in the summer months and it only makes them stay for the winter when they should be going south. They should be hunting and eating food from their natural habitat. That's my opinion anyway. I will only feed seed to birds during the winter months & stop in the spring for the same reason.
If you know someone to have...
If you know someone to have you as a guest to the Winthrop Yacht Club, you must sit out on their porch in one of the rockers. Sip on a Margaretta while gazing at Boston, watch the airplanes land at Logan Airport or the boats coming into dock, or the glorious sunset on a Summer evening. I'm afraid it's the only night life on our little island, but it's relaxing. If you don't know anyone to invite you, but you're a memeber of a Yacht Club somewhere else, just let them know where you're from and 'sign in'. The cocktail flag is out!!
They don't all fly South!
Many Drakes, Buffalowhead, and Canadian Geese winter over here. It's around 9:00 am in this picture, but this is where many more than this will sleep overnight.
