    Town 4th of July Fireworks

I've had a "front row" seat to Winthrop's July 4 fireworks thanks to a friend who lives on the water and so close to the spot that they're set off from, on "the neck." They always do a good job and being able to spend the afternoon with friends, leading up to them, is the best.

Will it be a Thunder Storm tonight?

Deer Island Public Access and Walking Paths

    See Boston from Deer Island

Visit the new public access pathway around Deer Island. The new park is almost five miles of interconnecting trails with beautiful views of Boston, Revere, Winthrop and surrounding area islands and lighthouses. The pathways are free and open from sunrise to sunset for pedestrian use only.
The paths go up and around hills with viewing spots set up with granite benches or stones to sit and rest. Bring a picnic lunch and a camera. But keep in mind that there are NO Public Restrooms put in yet. Hope that changes soon!

    Our party

All along Winthrop's Neck folks gather to celebrate the 4th of July. It's so nice to see what seems like an entire town taking time off to party. What could be a better way to spend the 4th?

Take a walk on the Beach.

Winthrop has 5 beaches. A least two are large enough for walking with beautiful views and the calming sound of the surf.
