    Sole Proprietor: The Sole Place To Go!

    by BigBlueOne Updated Mar 27, 2007

    Traditionally upscale seafood restaurant. The ambience fits very nicely with what its trying to be.

    Favorite Dish: I had the steamed lobster. While it was good the appetizers were better (we tried almost all of them). Pretty good wine list for a seafood joint as well.

    We sat at the bar here, had drinks and sampled some of the fare. This restaurant has some really interesting dishes and appetizers. Really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and the Bloody Mary's which are served with a jumbo shrimp for a garnish. Yum!

    Favorite Dish: We split a Tuna Sashimi dish that was prepared with Mango, Pickled Ginger, Cucumbers and sprinkled with Roe. Then we split a Shrimp, Chicken and Pasta dish with a Tomatoe/Feta sauce that was prepared in one of their kettles. The kettle dishes, by the way, are a speciality. All was very tasty and I would definately eat here again.

    Bagel Time: The Best Bagels in a 60 mile radius!

    by Phildagr8 Written Nov 21, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    Here's the map! This is I-290 exit 10 off I-90

    These bagels are made the old fashion way... they're kettled ( boiled). By submerging the dough in boiling water, it seals in the moisture and gives them a shine. Their bagels meet the "requisite weight minimum" of 4 ounces, and their size shows it! These bagels "totally blow away" the competition you'd find in the grocers freezer section. Lenders bagels are only 2 oz. each, so if you're used to Lenders, then try a real bagel and see what you've been missing!

    The prices are competitve and the help is typically college students, so be prepared to wait in line, and tell them how many bagels you want first before naming flavors so they can pick the correct size bag.

    This place has won awards 'Best in Worcester' for at least 4 years out of 5. I used to make bagels when I lived in NY, and I'm always criticizing a bagel for what's right and wrong with it. This place gets my approval and a 2-thumbs up.

    Besides bagels, you can get the plain or flavored cream cheeses, too! The prices are competitive. They have tables where you can sit, eat and relax.

    Favorite Dish: Bagels!! Get one of each, put the extras in a plastic bag and freeze them!
    Buy a dozen, and you'll probably save some money, too!
    Walk across the street and get your cream cheese, butter, milk and everything else.

    Get a salt bagel... it's like a ginormous pretzel!
    Get a poppy bagel... and don't smile until you brush :o)
    Get a seseme bagel... Seseme seeds have vitamin E.
    Get a cinnamon raisin bagel.... Raisins are good for ya
    Get an egg bagel...If its made with real eggs, it's got chock full o protein.
    Get a plain bagel and try the different flavor cream cheeses.

    And you can't get fries with it here.

    The Sole Proprieter: Don't Miss the Fresh Seafood!

    Here's a 20,000 foot view of the restaurant (red s

    This place is probably in the Top 5 restaurants of this town. This has the freshest fish in town, and they also have a crab-fest once a year (when its in season).
    Parking is limited so get there early. This place has a bar where you can get made-to-order food, and the alcohol isn't watered down, either. The dress is business casual, if not better than that. Avoid jeans unless you're at the bar, and you won't go wrong. The menu has a very good selection, and if it's a form of sea life, you can probably get it here. You'll be back for more, guaranteed.

    The owners of this place also own 111 Chop House. Check out the website for directions, a sample of the menu, etc. The site is www.thesole.com

    Favorite Dish: The stuffed mushrooms were fabulous, and I've had everything on the menu, and it's all good. I have never had a complaint.

    Zinpango: freshest sushi around worcester

    by vrage Written Mar 22, 2003

    small resaurant, nice people, and nice fresh sushi. They do huge sake caraffes, and also cooked food -like teriyaki salmon for only like 7.99.

    Favorite Dish: I'm not a sushi freak, I kind of like things basic, so I like a nice tuna or yellowtail sashimi.

    111 Chop House, a steakhouse owned by the same people as the Sole Propetier.
    A nice higher class steakhouse with great menu items. The bar is 'sqeeze' room only at night and the food is a bit overpriced, but yet still a great place.

    Favorite Dish: Filet..of couse :)

    Ok, I am going to jumble out the best restauants around that I go to in worcester:
    Sakura Tokyo- japanese and sushi/sake;
    Tianos-italian,filets ect;
    Sole Propieter-seafood and classy bar;
    Vinnie Testas -lousy food, but have an outdoor deck in the summer on the lake;
    Coe's Cafe-outdoor seating, good food at low prices, and heavy poured drinks.

    Favorite Dish: Sakura does a 6.99 lunch buffet where they cook tempura to order, best deal around.
