I'm surprised I haven't seen another tip on this museum here. (Unless it's here and I just haven't found it.) This is a very nice little museum with some very nice pieces in it including works by El Greco, Monet, Kandinsky and even a Rembrandt. We saw an exhibit of photographs by Stephen Shore that I found to be very interesting and their recent acquisitions feature Le violon d'Ingres, by Man Ray.

This is a cool place to check out. This place is like a mini-zoo/planetarium/artsy-fartsy culturistic place to go. There is a zoo section with an area of snowy owls, red fox, river otters, bobcats, mountain lion (I don't know if there's more than 1), and polar bears.

Inside the building are sections titled "Connecting the Americas", "What is Life", "Minerals", "WatersEdge", "Dynamics of the Depths", an African Hall, and a Planetarium. There's also a curator workshop, museum shop, bathroom, and refreshments area to take a quick break. It's a 3 level building with stairs, but there's also an elevator in case you've got a stroller, wheelchair, etc.

There's a mini train ride around the park, so it's a good place to bring the kids, or a date if you're stretching for something to do on the 20+th date.

There is a snack bar, but I recommend going getting something to eat before you go. There is a Piccadilly Pub nearby if you're doing the lunch thing out, too.

This place is in Worcester where you'd never believe it is. Check out the map pic. Feel free to call ahead to see if they're open...and if the train ride is open, too.

The last time I was there was for a jazz concert. There were a few tents pitched in the parking lot, and it was a good time. Check out their website for a calendar of events!

CHURCH???

A manufacturing and innovation giant for 200 years, Worcester's landscape blends impressive mills and diverse architecture with community-oriented neighborhoods and inviting green spaces. Our municipal services are outstanding, with one of the finest urban school systems in New England and one of the lowest serious crime rates in the country (in cities of 100,000 or more). An admirable mix of old and new, Worcester is one of just two communities nationwide to have been recognized as an All-America City a record five times, most recently in the year 2000.
