by Kbird009 You must visit downtown. It is really quaint and great shopping.
I had a great time playing waterpolo in the university of michigan pool. I also played in the Ann Arbor High School pool. That was an experience i will never forget. I loved being there with so many different people from all around the world for the Junior Olympics National Waterpolo Tournament. Leave a Comment

by SilverVelvet Ann Arbor doesn't necessarily have a single 'must-see' attraction, but the central downtown area in itself is a perfect way to spend a tranquil day in a European-styled city. The streets are lined with cafes tables, students rushing to class, well-heeled locals reading the New York Times, activists shouting their message to the world from their soapboxes at the local version of London's 'speaker's corner' in the park, street musicians playing for tips, lots of unique shops such as a chess store, theatres that specialize in foreign and independent films, art galleries, clubs, cozy pubs, and, of course, lots of bookstores. It's also nice to walk around the central campus to admire the design of the buildings that are intended to look older than they are. Leave a Comment

by SilverVelvet Ann Arbor is the best town in this part of the country to shop for used books and, being that I'm a writer, this is personally one of my favorite reasons for spending a day in this beautiful town. My favorite used book store is Dawn Treader (see photo) that also specializes in appraisals, rare books, autographed books and first editions. During my last visit, I saw books that were more than 200 years old, a first edition of 'Waiting for Godot' autographed by Samuel Becket and first editions from Kipling. Leave a Comment

by SilverVelvet David's Books, located just down the street from Dawn Treader on Liberty St., is another popular used book store. Leave a Comment

Accelerate quickly away from stop signs and traffic lights -- don't sit there with your mouth open, wondering what to do. It just annoys the locals behind you. And try not to drive the wrong way down one way streets -- sometimes we sit outside the bars and restaurnats taking bets on how many confused Ohio drivers or people from Farmington Hills will turn South on Ashley.
My fondest memory occurs every Spring with the students (most of 'em, anyway) leave. Leave a Comment

You have to take a tour of the campus. It is beautiful. The architecture is amazing, especially in the Law School. Take your time and enjoy the flowers and the people.
I miss the people in Ann Arbor when I am not there. There is the most imcredible mixture of cultures that it is absolutely fascinating to sit on the Diag and just watch the people and enjoy the sunshine. Leave a Comment
