Michigan Microbrew

Ann Arborites love their beer and for good reason. Michigan has lots of great micro-breweries. The two most popular are Bell's and Arcadia. Both can be found at many of the local pubs. But there are plenty of others. Also try heading down to Grizzly Peak Brewing Company (which also has great food) or Arbor Brewing Company.

Very diverse. Ann Arbor is like little Asia because of so many asian students. They all hang out in the starbuck's...all 4 of them. Lots of Jewish people as well. A very interesting atmosphere of intelligent people.

The typical Ann Arbor native is a stressed-out, overeducated technologist, trying
to grab a quick drink or a meal in what is, after all, his or her home town. We're
somewhat understandably impatient with slow, confused tourists making that
harder for us than it has to be. Hey, we don't come to Wayne or Bloomfield
Hills or Royal Oak and annoy you, do we?

One of the most interesting things about Ann Arbor is the complete and utter lack of dress code. In general nobody cares what you're wearing; you can walk into a fancy restaurant wearing shorts and a T-shirt and hardly get a second glance as long as you're clean. There might be exceptions to this rule, but they're few and far between. It's really refreshing after traveling in Europe, Asia, or even New York.

Ann Arbor is a very liberal town that encourages diversity, gay rights, personal freedoms of speech and religion and much more. People are typically very laid back and friendly. In this photo, the man on the far right is preaching about God, but the people to the left are more interested in taking photos of themselves.

Downtown is wonderful. The city is really quite clean, and abounds in trees & plants. Lots of interesting shops and a great variety of cuisine for a small city.
