	Avoid I-496 between 4pm-6pm

I-496 is very dangerous to drive during the evening rush hour in either direction. Cars may move at 70 mph and then come to a sudden stop without warning. Many commuters cut in and out of traffic lanes with inches to spare. Accidents are frequent and the police even seem to avoid the highway during this time. Talk Kalamazoo or Michigan Avenue instead.

	Frandor Frowns

Taking Saginaw Hwy. past Frandor during even medium traffic times is a hassle. Traffic moves slowly and drivers cut across multiple lanes. Michigan Ave. is a better alternative.

CATA is Lansing's bus system. While the portion operating in MSU and between East Lansing and Okemos is fine, the Lansing portion is 50% mentally imparied individuals, many of who are aggressive. Women should be extra careful and never give money to any passanger who solicits it.

The only real must see is the beautiful Michigan State Campus. Take a drive through the campus and stop at the natural history museum, the greenhouse and the AWSOME campus dairy store!! I recommend the rasberry chocolate chip and at least a taste of the chocolate cheese.....
Established in 1855, I believe that this is the largest land grant univeristy in the country. A land grant univeristy is a college that was built on land that was set aside specifially by the government for the building of a univeristy. Most of them, including MSU, are mainly agricultural colleges.

Go visit Michigan State University
I was a student at MSU from 1980 to 1984 (when I graduated) and still have wonderul memories of my college days there.

If you get the opportunity to go to East Lansing, a walk arund this beautiful campus is a must. Also, if you get the opportunity to go to a basketball or hockey game, go. Both teams are ranked nationally.

I found the historical district of East Lansing very picturesque.
Beautiful houses in a peaceful environment, with plenty of birds, squirrels etc.

	Tour MSU.

Make a day out of visiting MSU. Start with breakfast in the MSU Union, visit the MSU Museum, Art Museum, Beaumont Tower and the library in the morning. Have lunch at the International Center's food court. Talk a post-lunch stroll or canoe trip along the Red Cedar. Ride the bus around south campus in the afternoon and sit in on a class in a big lecture hall (no one will notice or care). Have dinner at Case Hall or Shaw Hall. Visit the Planatarium in the evening.
