Michigan State University has its own student-run radio station WDBM 88.9 fm, known as The Impact. They play a great line-up of college alternative bands as well as some local bands. It is paid for by students so there are no annoying commercial breaks.

Walk around north campus. On the ancient shady paths of MSU's north campus there are numerous relics of the university's 130+ years as an academic center for the midwest.
