If you find yourself in town, you must eat at Bilbo's pizza place and El Azteco Mexicaon Reseraunt! Both are GREAT college town eateries! And Bilbo's is (or at least was!) open late into the night!
I have just been informed that Bilbo's has been closed for a couple of years!! This is a true travesty! They had the absolute best cheese bread sticks with dill sauce I have ever had...*sigh* I guess it is true about your college years, you can never go back..... Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Peking Express, which is an absolutely tiny Chinese place run by some dude and his wife who work about 100 hours a week running the place has some of the best and least expensive food around. It's located on the corner of Grand River and Bailey, near Taco Bell.
Another great restaurant is Georgio's pizza, which is located directly across the street from BW3, one of the main bars downtown. This place gets PACKED after the bars close, and is a wonderful place to pick up some fantastic slices of artery clogging pizza.
If you are at Georgios anytime around 2:00 AM on a weekend night, be prepare for some of the loudest and most obnoxious drunk people you will ever see in your life

Funky mexican joint serving good food at real good prices. The atmosphere at El Azteco is a causal one, so be prepared for a good time with friends and family.

One of East Lansing's finest dining establishments, located within walking distance ot MSU campus and all sports facilities (includes a full bar, full menu, open air patio).
Now it's been a few years since I've been here but the Jack Daniel's New York Strip (a tender, hand-cut, broiled-to-order steak served with Jack Daniel's black peppercorn sauce with your choice of vegetable, potato, or rice) was a hit. Leave a Comment

Allthough I found Army Basic Training at 17 to be more enjoyable than grad school at MSU, Bilbo's Pizza was one of the few bright spots that I remeber-that and Turtle Cookies at the Trowbridge Quality Dairy. I looked in the phone book for a pizzeria that delivered lite beer with their pizza-and Bilbo's was the only one who did. Large Whole Wheat Crust Pizza with a six pack of Bud Light (my favorite beer then was Miller Lite.). The perfect way to spend a tiring Friday night! Maybe I could have shared some with the Spartan Village cockroaches that infested our apartment!
I say that those whole wheat pizzas were all that I ordered from them, except the beer. They had a whole wheat crust for the health conscious consumer. I comapred it to Godfather's Pizza of the early 80's which went out of business in Toledo. Check out the MSU Dairy Store in the center of the beautiful MSU campus. Made fresh and with numerous different flavors. THis is a must if you are in Spartan territory during any of the warmer Michigan months.

Of the three Indian restaurants in or near East Lansing, Sindu's in the Hanna Plaza is my favorite. Though they are a little over priced, the food is great and the naan bread is out of this world.

Woody's is an East Lansing classic in a city where restaurants come and go. It has a large and flavorful menu for both vegetarians and flesh eaters. Prices are very reasonable.

I've never eaten anything at this place and not been totally satisfied. The barbeque ribs are the best I've ever eaten. I'm not a big steak person, but everyone I've eaten with there says the prime rib is out of this world.
Since it is a chain, the decor is somewhat typical. To me, it seems like a cross between a TGI Friday's (fun, silly signs and props on the walls) and a red lobster (wooden wall coverings, large tables). The staff has always been very friendly.
This is not a super fancy restaurant, but it is great for things like birthday parties with a small group of friends, or hanging out with a friend who's in town. Entrees range from about $7 to $18. My boyfriend and I await the special occasions where we can return for the great food.
The barbeque ribs are named "best in town", and they aren't lying. They have 2 choices of barbeque sauce: sweet (my favorite) and Kansas City (a little tangier). The meat melts off the bone into your mouth, and even a half slab is plenty to fill you right up. Leave a Comment
