The Lansing area does not have many places to dive, but Lake Interstate on the southwest side of town off I-69 is where local divers go to get some easy time in the water. There is a variety of fish life and underwater plants to see. Visibility ranges between 10 and 20 feet. The lake is diveable from mid-March to mid-December.
Equipment: Inquire at ZZ Underwater World on Michigan Avenue in Lansing's east side. The phone number is 485-3894. They'll even do a Try Scuba course with non-divers at Lake Interstate for $25 (all gear and air included).
