Why not take a nice stroll in a lovely college town. Up and down Grand River Ave and M.A.C are where most of downtown lies. There are a town of cool places to shop, eat and browse. Like most college towns, this place is loaded with coffee houses, bohemian book stores, vintage clothes stores and music shops. More than your fair share of cheap eats bars and restaurants.

Michigan State University is an absolutely beautiful campus. It is also the main reason people visit East Lansing. Grab your camera and take a stroll. Beautiful tree covered lanes with a nice little river which runs through the middle of campus. Very much a park like setting. Ivy covered buildings, including the famous Beaumont Tower. Make sure you where comfortable shoes, because the campus is huge and will take at least half a day.

Go visit Michigan State University
I was a student at MSU from 1980 to 1984 (when I graduated) and still have wonderul memories of my college days there.
If you get the opportunity to go to East Lansing, a walk arund this beautiful campus is a must. Also, if you get the opportunity to go to a basketball or hockey game, go. Both teams are ranked nationally.

The MSU men's ice hockey team started in 1924, and in 1950 it became a varsity sport. Since then the school has won national titles in 1966, 1986, and 2007. They play at Munn Ice Arena there tickets cost about $20 for non students. Michigan State's hockey team is in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association.

Michigan State was founded in 1855 as one of the nation's first land grant colleges, and it was the model for many in the future. With 46,045 students it is the eighth largest university in America. The main campus in East Lansing occupies 5,200 acres with 676 buildings.
One pf the recognizable landmarks on campus is the Beaumont Tower that was built in 1928 and stands 105 feet tall.

Make a day out of visiting MSU. Start with breakfast in the MSU Union, visit the MSU Museum, Art Museum, Beaumont Tower and the library in the morning. Have lunch at the International Center's food court. Talk a post-lunch stroll or canoe trip along the Red Cedar. Ride the bus around south campus in the afternoon and sit in on a class in a big lecture hall (no one will notice or care). Have dinner at Case Hall or Shaw Hall. Visit the Planatarium in the evening.

The only real must see is the beautiful Michigan State Campus. Take a drive through the campus and stop at the natural history museum, the greenhouse and the AWSOME campus dairy store!! I recommend the rasberry chocolate chip and at least a taste of the chocolate cheese.....
Established in 1855, I believe that this is the largest land grant univeristy in the country. A land grant univeristy is a college that was built on land that was set aside specifially by the government for the building of a univeristy. Most of them, including MSU, are mainly agricultural colleges.

Come to a Michigan State University football game and cheer on the Spartans. Maybe our new coach will help us to win a game or two.

Bring along your friends, warm blankets, food, drinks and a fun attitude. In this picture, you can see the party animals: Timmy, Chrissy, Jon, Doug (the one with the camcorder) and Tommy.

If you happen to be in E. Lansing during the fall, it's football season so why not go to a game. But before you go, have a tailgate party.
