If you visit Grand Haven and have a few too many drinks and decide its better to not drive then feel welcome to leave your car in a city lot and return to a parking ticket in the morning.Well maybe you should just drive oh yeahthen theyll pop you for drunk driving.Well wait there are some park and ride tickets you can pick up at the bar or resturant your at but oh yeah the city started charging the bars and resturants for the park and rides so most are no longer carrying them.

If you own a Scarab type boat with loud exhaust,you might want to skip the port of Grand Haven.The patrol boats have decibal meters and will turn you back to the lake if its too loud.So much for tourism.

Our piers aren't piers at all, they are called rockpiles, they are great fun to walk on, but dont jump off, there are rocks that serve as the piers foundation (hence the name rockpile) that often cant be seen, and even on calm days people have been killed. IN SEVERE WEATHER STAY OFF THE PIERS. (DO NOT JUMP) If you must jump, only jump in calm water, where others are jumping, Jumping in wavy or rough water can cause you to be swept into the side of the PIER, the sides of the pier are coragated iron. (DO NOT JUMP)

Grand Haven has a reputation for handing out D.U.I. tickets.The number of patrols keep this town safer than the average town.Get a room and walk or take a cab its not worth the ten grand.

A: Did a google on Greyhound bus routes and didn't come up with anything - and that would probably have been your best bet. My guess is that there isn't a public transit...

Coast Guard Capitol of the USA!
This is a lovely Lake Michigan town which is known for festivals, power boat races and lots of fun in the sun.

I visited Grand Haven during a business trip to Fremont. It was cold, snowing and getting dark so I did not see all that much. There is a nice park by the Lake beach and the downtown area seams nice....

I didn't grow up here for the majority of my life. However, I moved to Grand Haven about four years ago. I wanted a more laid back setting and to, sort of, distance myself from the town I work in...

We had a 60+ peson family reunion here in 1997, had a great time! My grandfather used to own a vacation lodge at Spring Lake and our family used to go there for weekend get togethers. Good memories.
