Everything is closed on Sunday
If you go to the town of Holland, not Dutch Village, you will find a few ghosts and not very much more. There are some really great looking shops in this town, but you won't be able to go to them on Sunday. Maybe 5% are open, and the same even applies to restaurants, which I found very surprising. Word around the campfire is, this is a really conservative county. This picture is taken through the window of a closed art gallery, of which there were many. Patriotic little place.
A Reformed City?
I recall reading on this site and elsewhere that there was little to do in Holland on Sunday because so much closed up due to strict religious customs. I was glad to know that so we could get there early on Saturday. As people of faith, Nancy and I notice churches when we are traveling, especially so in Holland. A huge percentage of the churches we saw contained the word "Reformed" in their name. We have never seen that before or since, and found that quite interesting.

Very little that you have to...
Very little that you have to worry about. If you dont fit in or tick a few people off dont worry about it because they are too kind to do anything to you. It is the most conservative town in Michigan over 30,000 people though. But dont let this fool you. Conservative does not mean old boring and rich.
