Holly Things to Do
A chance to step back in time and experience Medievel England (make that MI) in all its glory. A great day of family friendly fun.
The deceiving name of this building may not lead you to walk in the front door for a Sunday brunch or a candelit dinner, but it is, in fact, a restaurant. In order to preserve the beautiful Victorian style architecture, they converted this hotel into a restaurant with several banquet style rooms for special events.
The Sunday Brunch is a wonderful first-timers experience and tasty introduction to this restaurant's offerings and style. You can also become a member (and frequent diner) to receive a discount off your bill as well as newsletters about current events. The Holly Hotel is known for bringing out of town visitors to their themed dinners and holiday buffets.
You'll be pleased to know that the menu is printed each day with a special selection of meals prepared freshly and uniquely. It is also one of the few restaurants that offers fair wine pricing- so order the best bottle you can find!
The atmosphere is truly one of romance. Many visitors walk out with a rose in their hand and a smile on their face. The service is personal and welcoming.
If you arrive early for dinner, you may also want to catch the show at the basement Comedy Club- where you'll have a discounted entrance after dining in the restaurant. This little town has seen some big names in Comedy over the years- so you may be in for a surprise!
If you're ever in the area, or looking for a nice romantic spot to take your partner for dinner- this should definitely be on your list!
PS. Don't forget to read about the ghosts!

Holly Local Customs
Expect the unexpected and look for the overlooked. The first year we went, we saw a guy in a most bizarre outfit that just stragicaly covered a few 'parts.' This year, Michael met his first inchworm, and found that as entertaining as anything that was going on around him. He also loved the walk though the woods from the parking lot, full of imaginings about wildlife, etc...
Holly What to Pack
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Pack you favorite costume from Old England. It is much more fun to become a part of the Festival instead of just an observer. Michael dressed up this year, I will give it a shot next time!
Favorite thing: Attend the Ren Fest that is held there each summer. It is so much fun - the food is great, the entertainment is the best, I love the shopping and the atmosphere must be experienced.
Fondest memory: Last year Michael wore his Robin Hood outfit. Another person introduced himself to Michael and then took Michael to meet the Queen. She gave him a ring, but more importantly, gave him a hug. It was priceless! The actors at the Ren Fest do a great job.
