I love to walk and new places get me on foot. Few people actually walk in the USA, so they miss all the delights of architecture and such. The center city of Kalamazoo is undergoing a tremendous rebuilding. Century old buildings are under renewal and every block seems to have something upgrading. I love to check out the nice work on what were some really sad places only a few years ago. This is not a big city, so a couple hours and you will see all the new projects. This was the first city to close off a city street for a pedestrian mall in the USA. It is still a vital area.
The Gilmore Classic Car Museum in Hickory Corners is not too far from Kalamazoo. It's open daily May thru October and has something for everyone. A rare Tucker, Duesenburgs, and more modern classics are on display. The best way to research it is on their website - see below.
