We had a fantastic day of golf at this amazing course in Kalkaska. Thankfully a local Pro shared information about the course. We truly enjoyed playing it! Actually, we had such a fun day, we returned later to play with some relatives in the area. A lot of elevation changes and just a challenging fun course. Plus the price is terrific. Each time we played we stayed for a casual dinner at their restaurant.
Note: This is just a good down home and laid back golf course (not a fancy upscale). It will still give any golfer plenty of challenge and a fun day of golf. They have a great perch basket, too! Inexpensive and tasty!

I'm not sure how widespread disc golf is outside of the States, but we have a few really great courses up here in northern Michigan. Disc golf is what some people call frisbee golf. The very cool thing about it is that you get to be outdoors and usually it's a beautiful long walk in the woods... It can also be done in winter, with the added excitement of icy slides of the discs!

Kalkaska Warnings and Dangers

This is a somewhat forested area. While we were sipping wine on the patio, a young girl burstout of the trees crying her eyes out. She'd gotten lost after leaving her cabin to explore, and had been lost for over an hour. We took her back to her parents, but the lesson is well learned. If you have children, make sure they stay in sight of the cabin.

Just of M72, we spotted a farm that raised llamas. Never having seen one before, we took some pictures.
