About 15 miles east of Bemidji on Hwy. 2. Take the Scenic Highway (Hwy 39) to Blackduck. Here's my travelogue on Chippewa National Forest. On Hwy. 71 about 25 miles from Bemidji but a great place to take in wilderness and see where the Mississippi River begins. Check out my travelogue on Itasca State Park.
