Favorite thing: Take a walk along the Lakewalk!! Start at Canal Park & walk until you get to the famous, Portland Malt Shop. It is the best!! Its this LITTLE brick building & all they sell is ice cream cones or malts, but they are GOOD!! They just hit the spot. Then on the way back to Canal Park you can eat your malt, or HUGE ice cream cone!
Go up to Enger Tower. It is my favorite. The gardens are full of the most beautiful plants & flowers. This tower was dedicated by the Crown Prince of Norway, it stands, 583 feet above lake level. If you go up the tower you can see Duluth, 360 degrees. I also like to pack a picnic and have lunch here with my kids, especially for Mother's Day.
Fondest memory: Lake Superior, it is huge & beautiful, the view from on top of the hill is gorgeous.
Favorite thing: You'll find some interesting architecture in downtown Duluth. Superior Street and First Street are lined with cool shops and restaurants and you'll find some interesting buildings like this one.
Favorite thing: Duluth is a city built on hills! You either go up or down. Walking can get tiredsome and driving can be frightful if you are not used to them.
Favorite thing: Watch a huge ship come into the harbor. You can see a schedule a ships coming into the harbor in the free musuem at canal park.
Favorite thing: Nice place to attend a concert or a show - but if I were performing here, I'd be concerned about being overshadowed by the scenergy.
Favorite thing: It's good to see the old passenger railcars rolling through Duluth, even if it's just a short excursion trip.
Favorite thing: Drive along the north shore of Lake Superior. Gooseberry Falls is one of many beautiful state parks along the way.
