I find myself becoming more interested in churches each passing day. I never used to give them a second thought, but now I find them to be some of the most iteresting places in an average town. In these modern times, old building keep finding their way under the wrecking ball. But churches, for the most part, seem to survive. I just love the solid architecture. These old buildings were built to last. Why is it that modern buildings, churches included, seem to be built for the short term rather than the long haul?

What do you think of this small whiewashed church almost blended in the neighborhood? The Hispanic community in southern Minnesota is quite large and there are stores, restaurants, and churches that cater almost exclusively to the non-English speaking community.
I think this church is quite beautiful in its austere white an dgreen motif. It is a real place of worship. Nothing gaudy or fake about this place.

What do you make of this monstrosity. It seems to borrow some influences of a romanesque architecture, but it leaves me feeling flat. The belltower is nice enough, but the facade is just plain brownish-reddish brick. Ugh. Boring.

A private residential prep school. One of the best in the midwest. Always has a top hockey program--this past year they won the national championship.
