Hastings Things to Do

Tucked away behind the old mill is the Vermillion River Falls. There are walking paths here and it's a great place to take your dog, kids, SO, etc. You can walk all the way back to the old rail bridge and cross to Veteran's Park. Exploring by Vets Park there is an old mill building and Devil's Kitchen (cave).

Muddy Waters is a newer pub that opened up in Prescott, WI. It's a quaint, little place that plays blues/jazz for their background music and is neatly decorated. In the back it has a deck that overlooks the train bridge across the St. Croix (you can't eat closer to it than here, without picnicing). Upstairs is a room that rents out or is sometimes used for extra seating. The last time we were there, there was a Bday party upstairs with a live band. Drinks are slightly more expensive than in the rest of Prescott, but very compareable to Hastings and any other reasonably-sized town. This is our favorite place to go get a good meal, chill out and talk.

Favorite Dish: I love spicy food and the cajun chicken penne was excellent! If you get walleye, try the chipolte` sauce. You won't be disappointed.

Hastings Nightlife

I have to assume that Matt is a friend of the band...

It has been a few years since I've had to endure a few hours of truly generic Grateful Dead, Phish and Pink Floyd covers as well as a few originals mixed in to make a half hearted attempt at being more than just a cover band.

However this band is made up of some good musicians the songs are just a bit stale.

Also where's the band web site???

If you ever get a chance to see Kooky Uncle Tony, you should check them out. They play a variety of covers and their own music (little green friend!). Covers include from dylan, stones, dead, floyd, phish, other similar...
