    The mighty Mississippi

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: The mighty Mississippi starts in Minnesota and divides the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Unfortunately, the water is a bit too rough here for swimming, but it makes great photos and is still a major commercial thoroughfare.

Favorite thing: You must visit our chain of lakes; Calhoun, Cedar, Harriet. This chain is located just outside the Minneapolis proper city borders, and appeals to walkers, skaters, rollerbladers, bikers, and backseat site-seers! In the summer it is bustling with people, young and old. In the winter it is a very peaceful, humbling stroll.

Fondest memory: Our friendly, safe downtown area. Minneapolis is a 'big city' with a 'small city' atmosphere. I feel safe shopping day or night, and the architecture reveals the sophistication of the people who live here.
