Famous Dave´s Barbecue and Blues, Minneapolis

Famous Daves--which I call the "pig shack"--is one of my favorite places to go when I want a lot of food (in particular, meat). They have a pretty large menu and excellent barbecue sauces. If you like it hot, try the Devil's Spit sauce. If you like a lot of flavor, but with a little kick, try the Texas Pit. They also have a mustard based sauce and the Rich and Sassy sauce which is really mild.

They have ribs, hot links, beef brisket, chopped pork, and chicken entrees that come with corn-on-the-cob and a corn bread muffin, along with 2 additional sides. You can also get sandwiches and burgers and some excellent desserts.

Famous Daves caters and they do carry-out.

Favorite Dish: My favorite is the two-meat combo--I typically get the hot links and beef brisket. The hot links actually have a kick to them, unlike some other barbecue places. The beef brisket is quite lean so you actually get your money's worth of meat and not fat. Their sauces are excellent.

What a spread. Get there at 10am. choice of fruit bar, eggs, bacon, biscuts & gravy, sausage, hash browns, honey bbq wings, bbqd rib tips, pancakes, waffles, frenchtoast, cinnamon rolls, cheese cake, ham, and an omlet to order. ALL YOU CAN EAT!

Favorite Dish: I love the barbeque!

There are several locations of this Chicago style restaurant in the Twin Cities but I recommend you go to the main one in Calhoun Square. Its in the neighborhood known as "Uptown". In my opinion the bbq ribs are the best in the city, maybe even the world! Well, for me they are since I haven´t tried anything better! There is live music every night, mainly focusing on the Blues/Jazz/R&B and sometimes Swing although I think there is a Salsa night now too. I have seen some great musicians here. The decoration even includes the sensation you are under the "el" train in Chicago and sometimes you can hear the noise of it passing by. Go for good food, good music and a great time!

You MUST go visit Famous Dave's BBQ in Calhoun Square.
It's decently priced, maybe on the moderate side but you definately get what you pay for, huge portions of great food. The atmosphere is very inviting making you feel like you are at an outdoor BBQ at your neighbors. And the BEST part is that nearly every night they have a live Blues band.

Favorite Dish: Barbeque ribs or chicken, potato salad, barbeque baked beans, and cornbread that melts in your mouth beats the best of the best outdoor barbeque's in your life.
