Shopping Centers / Other Malls: Albertville Outlet
Honestly, this is a GREAT place to shop for all kinds of things. From clothing to home furnishings to luggage. It is an outlet mall, but don't let the word outlet scare you. It's still quality stuff with stores like BCBG Max Azria, Banana Republic and Ralph Lauren. This is NOT a place for those looking for a unique Twin Cities shopping experience. It's for those who want a bargain.
What to pay: You could honestly spend as little or as much as you want to. It's an outlet, so you could potentially come away with three new outfits for as little as $100.

Nicollet Mall: An eclectic mix of shops and eateries
The heart of MPS, you can buy anything here from time shares to medical care. Nicollet Mall is more of a pedestrian thoroughfare than a mall in the vein of Mall of America. Home of Target and the Dayton's department store chain (although I think Dayton's has recently merged with Marshall Field's). The Marshall Field's store alone features 12 floors of shopping and dining excitement. If you still have money left, there are also Saks Fifth Avenue and Nieman Marcus stores here. If you shop Nicollet Mall, you can definitely catch sight of Mary Tyler Moore as there is a bronze statue of her. The food fare in the area is terrific and some people even refer to this as Minneapolis's "Restaurant Row." My favorite id The Newsroom. During the summer and early fall there is a farmer's market every Thursday and Saturday where you can get terrific buys on produce and flowers.
What to pay: Things tend to be slightly more expensive here than back home but it is definitely worth the visit.
Gavidae: Downtown Shopping
Here's a great place to go to escape the cold in the winter if you're walking on Nicollet Mall.
Gavidae is a three level indoor shopping area that includes such prestigious stores as Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus.
Gaviidae Common: Big Bird, a waterfall and shopping until you drop
When your "anchor" stores are "Needless Markup" and Saks you need to be sure your credit cards are healthy. Better to put them away and visit to enjoy an unusual urban space.

IDS Crystal Court: Indoor shopping & eating in style!
This is one of the "second wave" additions to the Nicollet Mall. It occupies a whole block and has a fountain that flows down, not up.
