Another must-see when you're on your up-north trip! It's a very short walk to the falls from the parking area, whis was great since I'd worn the wrong shoes for hiking, and had some wicked blisters by this time!
Goosberry Falls is probably the best known waterfalls of Minnesota's scenic North Shore. However all along the North Shore are dozens of rivers and creaks that flow into Lake Superior. Many of these rivers and creaks are spawning grounds for salmon and other game fish of the lake.
Another lesser known but still impressive waterfall along highway 61 is the Cross River Falls in Schroeder, Minnesota.
Between Beaver Bay and Litttle Marais are up to 350 foot hight, sheer red rock cliffs to Lake Superior. Beautiful vantage points for the lake below. This is a popular destination for rock climbers in the upper Midwest.
From highway 61 on the North Shore of Lake Superior are some of the best and most scenic off-road trails for mountain biking or four-wheeling. If you are really daring you can visit Lutzen Ski Resort in the warmer months and find some of the most challenging trails or go to one the many State parks and access an endless array of paved and unpaved trails.
Equipment: Good off-road vehicle and of course your mountain bikes.
