Historically known for the "Outlaw Bridge" was built long before the legal crossing was built on HWY 61 near Lake Superior. The bridge was built without permission by Canadian & US citizens to have access into the neighboring country. There a few cabins along the road only within 1/4 mile from the river. We were there years ago, in the 70's and because it is so remote we were asked why we were there. On the drive, maybe 30 miles, form the present Hwy 61 there was nothing. Note the illegal bridge doesn't exist any more.

Accessible from Minnesota or Canadian point of interest. Located at old Highway 61 at the Canadian border. From Minnesota, take Old Highway 61 North from the present Hwy 61 in MN to the Pigeon River which is the Canadian/US border and is also accessible from the Canadian side.
