In a terrific, newly restored building in downtown Red Wing. The theme is nautical (the "Oar" in Oar d'oeuvre) but it's hip, not scary. On the night we went, they played Sinatra and I had a great blue martini. The menu is half appetizers--you can order a few and make the meal. But there were some great sounding entree specials as well.
We had a sampler of kalamata olives, marinated cold shrimp, gourmet cheese spread with crostini bread and some beef skewers with a fruity dip.
Favorite Dish:
The dinner was delicious but the dessert was to die for. There are at least a dozen alcoholic coffees on the menu. Pick your favorite and pray that the day's dessert is bread pudding. It was the best I've ever had or I wouldn't be writing this review. So good, really. I wanted to stay the next day for lunch.
Cute coffeehouse/gift shop/book store in the town centre - a real community place. Bring your laptop and plug in!
