We drove across the river into Wisconsin because I wanted to see Laura Ingalls Wilder's house from Little House in the Big Woods. It was only a replica but the drive was gorgeous. That part of Wisconsin and Minnesota surrounding Lake Pepin is so beautiful. Small farms and towns with populations of less than 100.
And the house was a thrill. I grew up with those books. Sigh.
