Probably some of the most interesting Christian churches in America! Not in terms of meeting location, by any means, but rather culture. Mt. Zion Christian Center is a full gospel church which is well known for incredibly dynamic worship bands. The Wind and Fire Christian Center is a very small church founded by, and very influenced by, Africans. On the more conservative end, the world famous Mayo Clinic was founded by the Mayo brothers and some nuns. The nun convent still remains, and I believe they accept visitors. It is called Assisi Heights and is the big beautiful Italian looking building on the hill about 1 mile from downtown.

Silver Lake is a great place to go for the afternoon and feed the geese. About 2,000 Canadian geese make this lake their home year=round. You can purchase cups of food right there just for this unique thrill.
Get out and watch some good old Stock Car Racing!!! Sure you watch it on TV, but how about on a dirt track with mud flying everywhere? Good old fun! This is my dad's car. He races super stock!!!
World's Second Largest Corn captures the admiration of a handful of midwestern and plains states towns, from Ohio to South Dakota. The Libby Foods corn water tower in Rochester, MN, stands tall and undigested.

We've had bupkus inclement weather. However, when it comes, it comes by the meter-full. 16" of snow in one weekend. This is *not* good (but, it's not all bad). We need the water.
What do you do when friend from LA visits and has never seen snow? Why, go sledding of course!!!
