    Public Gardens (Munsinger Clemens...

by riotgirlpeeps Written Oct 18, 2004

A beautiful park/garden area that has been a local favorite for years. The garden area is divided into two areas a lower and upper area divided by a residential street.

Many of the homes facing the garden have very interesting architecture and are just as interesting as the gardens.

This garden started initally as an informal garden park area in the 1930's. It is located directly on the banks of the Mississippi River and has several acres with flower lined walking paths and a pond.

The upper level (Clemens Gardens) is broken up into several more formal gardens including a rose garden. Many of these gardens (The white garden) are designed after formal British Gardens. The main centerpiece in the upper gardens is a large fountain called "The Renaissance Fountain with Cranes", which is one of the largest fountains in the state.

This garden area is an excellent place to spend time in and have a picnic. Very often you will see wedding parties here for photo sessions. There is also a peacock which occasionally walks the grounds.

    Don't feed the ducks!!

by etfromnc Updated Jul 8, 2015

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Seriously!!! They have more ducks than they want and it is against the law to feed them. I guess they just want to be sure that the migratory birds just keep on migrating. When I was there last, with three generations of a family which I dearly cherish, it was a genuine struggle to keep the boys from feeding those beautiful, hungry-looking ducks.

Instead of going to a chain bookstore like Barnes & Noble when visiting St. Cloud I'd recommend going to Books Revisited. This is a small bookstore that specializes in buying/selling used books and tracking down rare books for you. Equipment: Pick up your tickets at the door, but warning!! many games sell out. Pick up early.
