Festival of Nations is an ongoing event since 1932. Its goal is to celebrate ethnic diversity, and to preserve cultural and family values. So it's a great thing in theory.
However, the reality was a big disappointment. The 'representatives' are all volunteers working to introduce their ethnic backgrounds - and I have no doubt they do their best to put together a good end-product. However, the one we went in 2001 failed at that miserably.
Not only the food and beverage was expensive, but also they were quite different what we expected - and not in a pleasant way! The entrance fee was also high!
You can get more info about it at the official web site.

Charles Schulz, creator of the Peanuts comic strip, was born and raised in St. Paul. To honor him, 40 large Snoopy statues were distributed to various businesses and organizations around St. Paul for display. Each group got to paint or decorate their Snoopy statue however they chose. For example, the St. Paul Saints baseball team gave snoopy a bat, a cap, and painted one of their uniforms on him. These statues were then auctioned off for charity. Last year, 40 Charlie Brown statues were released, and were auctioned off to local businesses. This summer the city released Lucy statues. These statues are all over the place, and you will probably run into them sooner or later. Maps and addresses of the statues can be found at: www.stpaul.gov

I am sure alot of people would say this and I also would have to go with the Mall of America. When it comes to shopping, I think most of the stores in there are a little more expensive than usual. If you are planning on going there and don't like the big crowd of people...don't go there on the weekends. It is not all just all places to go shopping though. There is alot more like movie theatre and nightclubs too.
