When you that Hwy. 36 down to the St. Croix River and head into Stillwater, you'll almost always come upon traffic back up. Some of those cars are taking the only enterance into Wisconsin for miles, others are going to Stillawter but nevetheless, the trafic is slow moving.

This particular location is an area where Bing Crosby's mother grew up.

Miscellaneous: If you do come in winter (but why would you?), not all is lost. Head to Taylors Falls where you'll find Wild Mountain Ski Resort. They have over 60 runs. Granted, this is Minnesota, so you're not going to find incredible mountains, but you'll always have plenty of snow!

This is where I learned to ski and boy, was it a shock when I went at West and saw some real mountains!

Favorite thing: The Stillwater Lift Bridge is quite a sight, though it has been the focal point of some controversy in recent years, as some would rather see it modernized and others are fighting to preserve it.
