beau rivage

in my opinion the beau rivage is the nicest casino in biloxi. they offer all of the gaming options that you would find in a better las vegas casino. the beau rivage also several good restaurants and three bars. the beau rivage is owned by harrah's and books top name entertainment. i have visited casinos in atlantic city, florida, las vegas, new orleans, philadelphia and tunica ms. reno, rising sun, and st. louis and have found the casinos in biloxi and gulfport mississippi the most player friendly of any of these locations.

the grand

prior to hurricane katrina and arrival of the beau rivage the grand was the best casino in biloxi. the original grand was totally destroyed by hurricane katrina and now has a new location down the street. like the beau rivage the grand is owned by harrah's and offers all of the gaming options of a better las vegas casino. the grand has several good restraunts and bars and books top name entertainment. a very nice casino to vist in biloxi.

Adventures Bar and Grill

Located in the typically deserted old downtown of Biloxi, Adventures is a popular and fun spot. We came here a few times a week in the early evening for their great burgers and outstanding hot wings. The bar staff was friendly and the other customers very nice. Sports were always on TV and NTN Trivia in high demand.

UPDATE (July 2006) -- Adventures survived the hurricane quite well. In fact, it hasn't changed a bit since my last visit 8 years ago. Still the same friendly staff and customers, great burgers and wings, but...no NTN anymore. Oh, and they switched from glass plates to paper plates.

Though located in the Best Western Seaway Inn, this is one o fthe largest country dance halls in Mississippi. It is actually a very good spot with lots of friendly and fun people. I've been here on a few occasions and had a good time. They have a huge 40x40 foot dance floor and they play a wide variety of music, not just two-step for those of us with two left feet.

Dress Code: Cowboyish or cowgirlish depending on your cowboy attitude. For a real treat, dress like a Brokeback Mtn cowboy.

Beau Rivage Casino
4 more images

Prior to Katrina, Biloxi had about 10 casinos, as of July 2006 only 5 have been reopened. The Boomtown, Imperial Palace, Palace and Isle of Capri are fully operational with each having nearly 1,000 slot machines, plus table games, restaurants and casinos. Treasure Bay is the only other casino open at this time, and they have under 100 slot machines available.

Beau Rivage and the Grand will open in August and the Hard Rock will follow in 2007. Several other new casinos are in plans along the coast. My favorite casino back in 1998 was the President, and it has sold its minimal surviving assets in Biloxi; Casino Magic has also sold its property and assets to Harras, the same company which owns the Grand Casino in Biloxi.

This 'dive' of a bar is about the only thing open in these days after Hurricane Katrina. It's a very dark place inside, but they serve some decent Hamburgers.... Plenty of people go here later at night.
