anyone who has visited the mississippi gulf coast can testify to the danger and destruction of gulf hurricanes. fortunately for tourists hurricane warnings gives one plenty of time to leave the area of a forcasted landfall. as soon as there is a hurricane watch or warning leave the area immediately. the later you wait the exit roads become more congested and gas stations run out of fuel and hotels may become unavailable as far away as one hundred miles from the storm.

Hurriacne season is from June 1st to October 1st of each year, so if you do decide to come down during this season be prepared to either be evacuated or put up in some sort of shelter building for your safety. If you buy plane tickets make sure that they are redeemable for later flights.
