The Merrill Museum houses displays of area history and is housed in the old Merrill Building built in 1834. It was the first brick store in Carrollton and is one of the few remaining buildings from that timeframe in town. Call for an appointment to see the museum.

One of the nicest old buildings in Carrollton is the old United Methodist Church. This congregation was organized in 1836.

Carrollton has a couple of nice Veterans Memorials; one dedicated to Carroll County veterans of the nation's military; and a Civil War Monument.

Carrollton is a very small town of under 500 located in Central Mississippi. It is the county seat of Carroll County. The town and the county were named after Charles Carroll of Carrollton the last surviving signatory of the Declaration of Independence.
