Airport Grocery provides and eclectic atmosphere along with some of the best BBQ around. The blues play a main part in the establishment once hosting names such as Willie Foster and others. They also have the best hot tamales in town.

Favorite Dish: I love the hot tamales and BBQ about equally. Whichever one of those I get, I usually get gravy fries. Its a must visit place for newcomers.

There's Dockery Plantation about ten minutes east of Cleveland, Mississippi down Highway 8. It's a nifty place to visit (and free), if you have time. It has several buildings there from the now-abandoned plantation and a marker explaining the significance of the place. The ruins of the old store and the old cotton-processing machinery left in one of the buildings are also fun to explore.

    Old general store ruins. Panorama.
