Leland was home to a number of blues musicians but perhaps the most popular and well known singer/entertainer that was born in Leland (actually nearby Deer Creek) was Kermit the Frog. Make sure you visit the Jim Henson Kermit Museum if you are in town, or just passing by. The museum is open 10 AM to 4 PM Monday through Saturday and 2 PM to 5 PM on Sunday (although you may want to call and verify that). Admission is free! Great stop for kids of all ages.
