Assorted Antique Shops: The Perfect Place for Antique Shopping
As you might expect, Natchez has a nice assortment of antique shops. We made time on our last day to browse through a few of them. They were all located on the same street, which made it very convenient:
South Union Interiors (S.U.I) at 411 Franklin Street
Primitives Unlimited, Inc. at 505 Franklin Street
H. Hal Garner of Natchez at 610-614 Franklin Street
Pippens at 706 Franklin Street
It was at Pippens where I spied a tiny, floral limoges box, in which a sewing kit was once kept and long since has been lost (pic #2). We bought it and it sits with my vintage calling cards and antique perfume bottles.

Darbys: Dangerous on the wallet
Darby's is a great store with something for everyone. There is china, pottery, crafts, oils, candles, ornaments and goodness knows what else which I can't remember. I just know that I did some damage in this store. They also have a fudge counter which also did damage even though I'm not the one that's big on the chocolate and fudge. They had this pumpkin fudge to die for. It actually tasted like carrot cake complete with the cream cheese topping taste. They make for a limited time up to Thanksgiving. Boy it was good.
Open Mon-Sat 9 –5pm, Sun 10.30 – 5.30 (sept-Dec)
Another Level to Darby's
There is an upstairs to Darby's and a tall staircase takes you there. They were just setting up the Christmas decorations which will take up the whole of this floor. I don't know what they have up there during the rest of the year.
Downtown is not very big, but it is nice to stroll along Main Street and do some window shopping.
What to buy: Clothing, gift shops, antiques, jewelry, furniture, specialty shops, a drug store and restaurants.
