This store caught my eye travelling up US Hwy 61. After we turned off to visit the Ruins of Windsor, we went back to the store. It was built in 1875 and I doubt had had much done to it since. The sign said 'All you can eat lunch buffet for $5.95 and cokes for 89c' (despite the Pepsi ad on the side of the building).. a bargain. The owner assured us they had the best lunch around. They were serving a buffet of mustard greens, pinto beans, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, cream gravy and corn bread. Unfortunately we had just filled up on homemade fudge from Natchez and only stopped by for some drinks.. Still, I'm sure he was right :-) Good old home cooking type fare.
The decor was pretty much near original condition. The wooden shelves (with a lot less on them) and wooden floor boards was just like stepping back in time.
