Square Books: Great Bookstore

After a visit to William Faulkner's home, nothing makes a better stop than this quaint bookstore. Located on the town square in a great, old building, this large shop has a lot to offer - regular books as well as ones with a local focus.

Biloxi - T-Shirt City

One of T-Shirt City's souvenirs stores houses a 32,000 pound polystyrene sharks head in an attempt to draw in curious passer-by's. The building, like their other stores, is also an eye catcher in bright hot pink. This Sharks head is the country's largest themed sculpture. At a cost of $100,000 it took several semi-trucks to transport it from Jacksonville in Florida where it was build. It certainly caught my attention but not enough to stop and take a look.

Natchez - Darby's

Darby's is a great store with something for everyone. There is china, pottery, crafts, oils, candles, ornaments and goodness knows what else which I can't remember. I just know that I did some damage in this store. They also have a fudge counter which also did damage even though I'm not the one that's big on the chocolate and fudge. They had this pumpkin fudge to die for. It actually tasted like carrot cake complete with the cream cheese topping taste. They make for a limited time up to Thanksgiving. Boy it was good.

There is an upstairs to Darby's and a tall staircase takes you there. They were just setting up the Christmas decorations which will take up the whole of this floor. I don't know what they have up there during the rest of the year.

Open Mon-Sat 9 - 5pm, Sun 10.30 - 5.30 (sept-Dec).
