When you are traveling with children, it is important to keep them occupied on the road. I recommend taking road trips as compared with plane or train travel, just so you can keep all your baby entertainment equipment close at hand. Anna has fun riding in her car seat, because she can easily sleep or watch her DVDs and sometimes even read a book or...

  • Buses unavailable

In Pontotoc, Tupelo, New Albany, Mantachie, Houlka, Houston, Oxford and Sardis there are no bus systems to travel on around town. I am sure there are many other cities in the state that do not offer this as well. Please look into this before your trip/scheduling depends upon it.

  • Highway 49 to the gulf

After visiting a state park just south of Hattiesburg, I continued south on Hwy 49 instead of backtracking to Hattiesburg to catch I-59. I then took Hwy 26 back to the interstate. From what I saw of Hwy 49, it would be a good road to take to Gulfport or other destinations on the coast. Sometimes people are a little hesitant to venture off the...

  • Passing through

I passed through Mississippi on Highway 12. The road crosses the state from east to west close to the Gulf of Mexico. It´s a pretty nice and picturesque drive. I also drove through the northeast corner of Mississippi. But that was at night and I didn´t see a lot.

  • Jackson has many flights going...

Jackson has many flights going out of Mississippi, so if your coming from the States you can easily catch a flight. Otherwise, you could come by train on the Chicago to New Orleans train. In Mississippi, it is best to rent a car, since there isnt much traffic and you will have more freedom to go wherever you want.
