by thumperhm Just a few minutes away from Ashland is the Mark Twain National Forest. This forest is absolutely emmense, spanning a good chunk of mid-southern missouri. But the area near Ashland is a great little place with a few trails and some historic places left up along the way with a creek to follow if you like as well. You can bike, hike, camp, whatever.
