Located in a post colonial, but still old farm supply building, the Fest Halle Restaurant serves as the meeting point for the village today. Inexpensive meals are served up. Good simple food. You can meet the locals here every morning as they coffee up.
The Bed/Breakfast is also owned by the restaurant. Overnight rates were only $15/nt . You don't get tv's in your room for that price. You don't get a phone or toilet facilities either. Those are down the hall. Breakfast is served downstairs in the restaurant.
There is one other b/b in town, too - Mabel’s Guest House -- a private-owned guest inn; this “four square” turn of the century house is located on King Street in Bethel. For reservations, phone 573/633-2265.
There are not many places to overnight in this area of Missouri, just here or the Fest Halle in Bethel. I cannot comment personally on the accommodations or meals but locals in Bethel had only good evaluations of the steaks served up.
