Masters Public Use Area is on the shore of Stockton Lake about 10 miles north of Bolivar on highway 32. There are many picnic spots and a ramp to launch boats there. On a Winter day it is not very busy. I did not see a single other car there. My friend tells me even in Summer it is not over crowded.
LePetite Gemme Prairie is valuable because it is one of last bits of undisturbed prairie land in Missouri. It is small but valuable for that reason. Most of this natural preserve consists of a grassy hill. I walked to top of the hill and saw a swooping harrier. Hope to return in warm weather when the grass is green and there are more birds about.
On highway 32 entering Bolivar from west there is an underpass to drive through. The underpass had a lot of graffiti painted on it. Some local children repainted over the graffiti to make it more attractive. This part shows a map of Missouri on it.
This antique mall is a place my wife and I will stop in to for fun. It is huge and has all kinds of interesting things inside. It is a couple of miles south of Bolivar on 13.
The courthouse is in the heart of down town area. It is easy to locate so I used it as a reference point for finding some things in Bolivar.
