I had decided that we ought to see at least one show while we were in Branson, and Bob doesn't care for country music, so I thought the IMAX theatre would be a good compromise. There were 6 choices, including a show on volcanoes, a show on NASCAR, and a show called "Ozarks-Legacy and Legend", which purported to be a history of the area which was shown once at 4 pm.
There was also a 'real' movie theatre in the same complex.
We decided on the "Ozarks Legacy and Legend". Some of it was somewhat unbelievable. Like how a kid could just pick up a fiddle for the first time and start to play a reel and dance simultaneously, and why a couple of kids who were out for a picnic one day and fell into a cave would have a kerosene lantern with them. Also the obligatory airplane sequence - a barnstormer is going to take two poor kids up for a ride without them paying something?

This was the show portion of an optional excursion to Branson.
The show is now in it's tenth season in Branson, Missouri, and has been, I understand, voted "International Country Music Show of the Year!".
I'm not sure when that was but it probably wasn't this year. Don't misunderstand me, for the price (around $28), the show was more than acceptable but it was nothing to write home about (mind you, isn't that what I'm doing here..?).
I spoke to a gentleman who had seen the show a number of times and he was of the opinion that the quality had slipped from previous years.
The band and singers were all good, if not exceptional, although I am always wary of a troupe that has to have two teenage children as two of their four main performers..can't they get adults and shouldn't they be doing their homework..it was a school night!?
My personal quibbles aside, a reasonable show for a reasonable price.

The show blends different styles of music and even a bit of Japanese and American culture. I have made a travelogue so you can see what it was like. Shoji Tabuchi is fabulous violinist and has good sense of humor.
Dress Code: Dress casually and enjoy the show.

One night several years ago Becky and I drove to Branson from Springfield only for the evening. We saw the magician Kirby Van Burch. He has a very good magic show. His show has moved from where we saw it to this theatre called the Remington.

terry, my friend from the kettlecorn story, is a very funny comedian. he does the comedy in one of the oldest branson evening shows, the braschler show. he's very funny. they sing. he does funny stuff. the singing comes as a welcome breathing break.

This place is up on a hill. We saw a show here a few years ago. On this most recent trip to Branson it did not seem to have any thing happening here. From the upper balcony there is a good view.
