by brdwtchr The main road from Branson to Springfield is hwy 65. I found that hwy 13 is much more scenic and lovely. It takes longer to travel that route but is well worth it. Leave a Comment Theme: Car/Motor Home

by brdwtchr This excursion train is in down town Branson. We did not ride it. The tickets for the train cost about $20. We rode a smaller train at Silver Dollar City for free instead. Leave a Comment Theme: Train

Local leaders have committed funds to expand the Branson Airport into a commerical operation that could serve as many as five low-cost carriers, according to local planners. They aren't wasting any time turning the present small, private aiport--located near the College of the Ozarks in Hollister--into a viable alternative for visitors who prefer to fly rather than drive to Branson. In the winter of 2005 the county agreed to take over the flailing facility from the College. The city of Branson and a private developer have already promised to share part of the cost of developing the $114 million project. Improvements will include a 7,000-foot runway capable of serving the typical commuter airplane, according to officials, who say the proposed expansions will go a long way in increasing the number of annual Branson visitors which currently stands at about 7 million. by tazzluvr Getting around Branson without your own transportation is unlike any other tourist destination in the US. There are very limited taxicabs. We found a wonderful little shuttle company to help us out. All Around Branson Shuttle & Tours is run by the cutest couple, Cindi & Dave. They picked us up at the Springfield/Branson Regional Airport and brought us down to Branson. They also helped us get to each of our shows, even dropping us off at the front door of many of the theaters. Their service was friendly, professional, and competetively priced. Check them out if you need help with transportation. You won't be disappointed.
