Hartsburg is right on the Missouri River and the MKT trail goes alongside it. All kinds of nature abounds in all 4 seasons. You can ride South to Jefferson City,MO or North to Columbia,MO. You will find many other small towns along the trail to explore, rest, eat, camp, hike, etc.

Luggage and bags: anything will do

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: depends on the season. Hartsburg has 4 distinct seasons. Winter is Nov-March and can be very cold, snowy and icy. Spring, April-June, can still be cool at night and tends to be wet and windy. Summer will get well into the 90's most days and stay warm at night. Usually quite humid thru August. Sept starts to cool off at night but may still be quite warm during the day, usually dry. October is the BEST! usually lots of sun with daytime highs in the 60-70s and nights 40-50s.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Enjoy the (muddy) Missouri river in your boat and camp at many state parks in the area. Bike or walk the MKT trail
