Fun nightspot/cabaret in the burgeoning Crossroads Districts. You might find an eclectic tango band one night, karaoke the next, and a Broadway show-tunes sing-a-along after that. Excellent martinis! All Are Welcome Here - you never know who you'll meet at Bar Natasha.
Dress Code: It doesn't really matter what you wear as you long as your wear it fabulously.

"A grandfalloon is a proud and meaningless association of human beings." From a novel by Kurt Vonnegut., Jr. This is the motto for this KC nightspot. There is a very casual laid back atmosphere. There is pub food and sports on tv and the GranFalloon is on the this hippest and hottest bars in town.

I used to stop in here occasionally after work twenty years ago. It's kinda a college place for UMKC students - and Jesuits from Rockhurst who are still scared of bars on Troost - but it has a distinctive downmarket charm that is refreshing in the midst of the strivers of Brookside. I like the outdoor patio - and they have some nice Boulevard brews on tap, too.

The Power and Light District, opened in late 2007, looks ready to revitalize downtown Kansas City, MO. A project of the Baltimore-based developers, Cordish, the P & L District is the fruit of long-term planning (and hoping). The goal is to encourage the region's far-flung population to once again regard the center of the center as a place worth caring about. Generally, the District is seeking to "piggy-back" upon the adjacent multi-use Sports and Entertainment "Sprint Arena," as well as catering to the day-time population of office-workers and the hoped-for night-time population of bar-hoppers and suburbanites out for a good time.
I haven't been here at night, but I noticed a number of watering holes all sharing a common space in the center where patrons can mingle and meet. My older brother - who has been here after Sprint Center events - says it can be quite a happening space. Apparently, "open containers" are permissable as long as patrons don't leave the "Power and Light" perimeter.

I haven't eaten at Pierpont's yet - it's reputed to be one of the better steakhouses in Kansas City. But I've had a drink at the bar a couple of times. It's got a great atmosphere - what was once a private waiting room at Union Station has been turned into an upscale and lovely dining hall. Grand tall ceilings and super-comfy tables and chairs, and a great arrangement of bottles behind the bar!

Also known as the "Bad weather bar", due to the close proximity to our place here off the Plaza in KC. Your typical dive bar, the Peanut is a KC favorite for a couple reasons. It is the oldest continually run bar in Kansas City.....and it also has a fantastic BLT sandwich and chicken wings. This is not the most clean and fashionable of bars...but fun in its own way nevertheless. The service is not very good, the chairs are not that comfortable, but the Peanut is still fun to go to. On Friday and Sat nights it is so packed full of people, dancing on chairs and tables, that its difficult to get in and find a spot.
Dress Code: Here you see my brother, Per, dressed with a jacket and collared shirt....dont be fooled by that, though, you can wear anything to this place....there is absolutely no dress code. Check out the Kid Rock look alike next to Per lol. You can see on TV we are watching the Pittsburg Steelers play American Football....later in the year they would go on to win the Superbowl.

I think this is a great concept! A small wine shop (converted from a modest Victorian house) in Parkville with wine tastings and samplings from the vintages on sale. Reds, Whites, roses, Australian, Chilean, California, Missouri - you name the vintage and the provenence, and they will find a bottle for you to sample. Parkville is a charming small town on the Missouri River, about 10 miles north of downtown KC MO, with a thriving restaurant scene, so a wine tasting here makes a great prelude for a night out. I came here with my family in October 2005, and can recommend it heartily for a good night out.

This is a all around great neighborhood place. People bring in their mugs and keep them there lining the walls. They brew their own beer and the food is great. There are local bands that play there alot of nights.

It's just a local bar. Kinda funny because there's a big lighted sign to the only narrow storefront style building on the block.
But once you go in you're part of the gang. Friendly and good bartenders and a lively crowd.
We were there on karaoke Thursday night and people were singing the whole time and dancing.
There's quite an age range--got to dance with a man who announced he was 70. Please don't expect a scene, just local good place to have a beer.

This is a great place to go and just chill. Has a very relaxing feel with the leather booths and dark lights and artwork hanging on the walls. They offer a selection of different martins. Its just a great place overall. Its open from 4pm to 3am and serves food until midnight.
