This Applebee's just opened in early 2004, so it's very clean and fresh. The service is great, staff was mainly eager college kids ready to please.
I know, it's Applebee's. Just remember, you're in Maryville, MO. Your choices are going to be pretty limited, so don't bother thumbing your nose because this is a chain outlet.
Favorite Dish: Mmmmm, I had the cajun combo. Steak was done just right (I guess that "rare" means "rare" in the breadbasket, unlike in Michigan were everything means "well done" due to safety concerns...) The cajun shrimp and dipping sauce were a surprisingly spicy treat, not at all tamed down as you'd expect from a chain restaurant.

We had the pizza delivered to Burny's Bar, and it was incredibly good. Theirs is a "to-the-edge" style, thin crust, with more than ample toppings. Don't expect your average chain-store pricing, and delivery was extra (we had 2 large pizzas and 3 orders of mozzerella stix.) Still, it was worth every penny. Speaking of pennies, our delivery order had to be paid in cash. I am not sure if the store takes plastic. Be prepared!

They've got your typical variety of appetizers, salads and dinners. It's a comfortable place, but a little bigger than your typical small-town coffeshop so I don't want to say "cozy" and confuse people. They do have a separate room for larger groups. The Christmas lights on the ceiling are entertaining, that's for sure. The food there is good, honestly, I haven't had a bad meal
Favorite Dish: It's pretty hard to not have steak when in this part of the country.

Address: ummmm......downtown.
It's just a cute little privately-owned pizza place. They actually almost put the local Pizza Hut out of business! How's that for loyal patrons?!?
Favorite Dish: pizza...duh! although they have good spaghetti too.

I couldn't let Maryville get by without a second opinion. If you're not from the wide open spaces, it might take some getting used to. (Let's say, go fly a kite! It always seems to be windy there.) I...

Wow! I think I must be the only person on VT with a Maryville, MO page! Such a tiny town, but I love going there. My grandparents live there, and that's where my parents grew up. This is VERY...

Maryville is a great little city and definitely off the beaten path. It's a college town, but with a small, old-town feel. My grandparents live there, so I go to visit them as much as I can. There's...
